Who we are

Book Nevis is a private transfer coordination service operating in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. When this policy says “we,” “us,” or “our,” we mean Book Nevis. When it says “you,” we mean anyone who visits booknevis.com, makes a booking with us, or communicates with us by email, WhatsApp, or phone.

Our contact point for any privacy-related question is sales@booknevis.com.

What data we collect

We collect only the data we need to coordinate and deliver your transfer.

When you book a transfer, we collect:

  • your full name
  • email address
  • phone number (including WhatsApp if different)
  • lead passenger name (if different from the booker)
  • travel date
  • flight number and arrival/departure time (for airport transfers)
  • pickup location and drop-off location
  • number of passengers and luggage count
  • any special notes you provide (e.g. child seat requirements)
  • payment information (handled by our payment processor, we do not store card numbers)

When you browse our site, we collect:

  • cookies and similar technologies that help the site function and that help us understand how the site is used (see Cookies section below)
  • basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and referring page

When you contact us by email, WhatsApp, or phone:

We collect whatever you send us, which typically includes your name, contact details, and the content of your enquiry.

How we use your data

We use the data we collect to:

  • coordinate and deliver your booking (assigning drivers, scheduling water taxis, communicating with you before and during travel)
  • process payment
  • send you booking confirmations and transactional emails
  • respond to your enquiries
  • send you important service updates (for example weather-related schedule changes)
  • improve our service and our website
  • comply with our legal obligations

We do not sell your data. We do not send you marketing emails unless you have explicitly opted in.

Who we share your data with

We share your data only where necessary to deliver your booking or to operate our business.

Operational partners

  • the driver assigned to your transfer (receives your name, contact number, flight or pickup details, and any special notes)
  • the water taxi operator (receives your name, passenger count, and scheduled crossing time)
  • your hotel or villa, where coordination requires it (receives your name and scheduled arrival)

Service providers we rely on

  • PayPal — our payment processor (handles card and account data; we do not see or store card numbers)
  • our email delivery provider (handles sending booking emails)
  • our website host (stores the data on our site, under encryption)
  • Google and Meta for analytics and advertising (aggregated and anonymised where possible)

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not share your data with anyone outside the list above except where legally required, for example if compelled by a court or government authority.

How we store your data

Your booking data is stored in our WordPress and WooCommerce systems on a managed hosting environment. Card data is held by our payment processor (not by us) under PCI-DSS standards. Email communication is stored in our email provider. WhatsApp communication is stored in WhatsApp’s systems in line with WhatsApp’s own privacy policy.

We keep your booking data for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet our tax and accounting obligations (typically 7 years from the date of booking, per local accounting practice). After that we either delete it or anonymise it for analytics purposes.

Your rights

If you are a visitor from the UK, EU, or California (USA), you have specific rights under GDPR (UK/EU) or CCPA (California). We extend these same rights to all of our guests regardless of where you live. You have the right to:

  • access the data we hold about you
  • correct data that is incorrect
  • delete your data, subject to any legal obligations we have to keep it
  • object to our processing, or ask us to restrict it
  • receive a copy of your data in a portable format
  • withdraw consent where our processing relies on consent (for example, marketing emails)

To exercise any of these rights, email sales@booknevis.com with the request. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are in the UK or EU and believe we have mishandled your data, you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority (the ICO in the UK; your national DPA in an EU member state).

Cookies and similar technologies

Our website uses cookies to function and to help us understand how visitors use the site.

  • Essential cookies — required for the site and checkout to work. These are set automatically and cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics cookies — help us understand which pages visitors view, how they navigate, and where they drop off.
  • Advertising cookies — if you arrived at the site via a Google or Meta ad, we may use cookies to measure the effectiveness of that ad and to show relevant ads on other sites you visit.

You can disable or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Note that disabling essential cookies may prevent you from completing a booking.

Payment processing

All payments are handled by PayPal, including credit and debit card transactions processed through PayPal’s secure checkout. We do not see, store, or have access to full card numbers or PayPal account credentials. PayPal is PCI-DSS compliant and is responsible for the security of payment data. PayPal’s own privacy policy is available at paypal.com.

International data transfers

Book Nevis is based in St. Kitts and Nevis. If you are booking from outside St. Kitts and Nevis (which most guests are), your data will be transferred into St. Kitts and Nevis in order for us to deliver your booking. Our hosting provider, email provider, and payment processor may also be located in the United States or the European Union. Where we transfer your data internationally, we rely on the lawful bases provided under GDPR (for UK/EU residents), typically the “contractual necessity” basis, since we cannot deliver your booking without transferring your data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The version in effect on the date of your booking is the version that applies to your booking. When we make significant changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of the policy and, where appropriate, notify guests with active bookings.
