Where Mount Nevis Hotel is
Mount Nevis Hotel sits on a hillside above Newcastle, at the northern end of Nevis. It is one of the closest hotels to Oualie Pier, where most private water-taxi transfers land, so the final drive after the crossing is short.
Most guests fly into St. Kitts (SKB) and cross the channel by private water taxi. Book Nevis arranges the whole route — both road legs and the crossing — as one booking.
- On the northern slopes of Nevis, above Newcastle.
- About 10 minutes by road from Oualie Pier.
- Reached from SKB Airport by road and private water taxi.
- A quiet hillside setting with views across to St. Kitts.
From SKB Airport to Mount Nevis Hotel
Your driver meets you at SKB Airport after customs — look for a Book Nevis sign. From there it is a drive of about 30 minutes across St. Kitts to Reggae Beach Pier, a private water-taxi crossing of about 10 minutes to Oualie Pier, then a short drive up to the hotel.
We coordinate the land taxi, water taxi and hotel-side taxi so the route is joined up. Your luggage is handled at each stage, and we track your flight — if it lands late, the crossing and onward pickup move with it.
From Mount Nevis Hotel back to SKB Airport
On departure day, we schedule your pickup based on your flight time. The pickup is calculated to get you to SKB Airport approximately 3 hours before departure: we take your flight time, subtract the 3-hour airport buffer and the 45-minute travel time from the hotel, then round the pickup earlier to the nearest 15 minutes.
The route runs in reverse — hotel to Oualie Pier, private water taxi to Reggae Beach Pier, then a private vehicle to the airport. Be ready at reception at your confirmed pickup time; the exact time is in your confirmation email.
When it is worth booking ahead
Arranging the transfer in advance matters more on this route than most, because the water taxi and both drivers are coordinated around your flight:
- Families or larger groups travelling with luggage.
- Late-night arrivals, when pier arrangements need to be fixed in advance.
- Early-morning departures with a set check-in time.
- Guests who want the pickup time confirmed rather than arranged on the day.
- Child seats, which need to be requested before travel.
- Peak travel dates, when vehicles and boats book up early.
Mount Nevis Hotel transfer questions
How do I get from SKB Airport to Mount Nevis Hotel?
You land at St. Kitts (SKB) Airport, meet your driver after customs, drive about 30 minutes to Reggae Beach Pier, cross to Oualie Pier by private water taxi, then drive about 10 minutes up to the hotel. It is all arranged as one booking.
How long does the transfer take?
Usually around 45 to 50 minutes door to door, depending on traffic, pier operations and sea conditions.
Is the water taxi included?
Yes. The road legs on both islands and the private water-taxi crossing are part of the same transfer — there is nothing to arrange separately.
How is my departure pickup time set?
We calculate it from your flight: departure time minus a 3-hour airport buffer, minus the 45-minute travel time, rounded earlier to the nearest 15 minutes. The confirmed time is in your booking confirmation.
Can I add child seats?
Yes, at US$20 per seat for each road leg. This route has two road legs, so one child seat is US$40 in total. Add the request when you book.
