Oualie is one of the main gateways to Nevis — and it can mean two things. Oualie Pier is the public water-taxi pier used for many Nevis arrivals. Oualie Beach Resort is the beachfront hotel on the same bay, with its own separate pier — Oualie Beach Resort Pier. If you are staying at the resort, you can be landed directly at the resort’s own pier. If you are heading elsewhere on Nevis, Oualie Pier is often where you first set foot on the island before continuing by road. Either way, Book Nevis coordinates the journey from St. Kitts (SKB) Airport across to Oualie.

Oualie Pier vs Oualie Beach Resort Pier: what’s the difference?
They are not the same pier. Oualie Pier is the public pier at Oualie, while Oualie Beach Resort Pier is a separate landing point directly at Oualie Beach Resort. Which one you use depends on where you are staying and the transfer you booked.
Oualie Pier is the public pier used for Book Nevis routes that continue by road across Nevis, and for pickups arranged at the pier. Guests staying at Oualie Beach Resort can be landed directly at the resort’s own pier and do not need an onward Nevis taxi to reach the resort.
When Book Nevis says Oualie Pier, we mean the public pier. When we mean the resort’s own landing point, we write Oualie Beach Resort Pier.

How your SKB Airport to Oualie transfer works

- Land at SKB. Clear immigration and collect your luggage at St. Kitts’ Robert L. Bradshaw (SKB) Airport.
- Meet after customs. Walk out after customs and look for a Book Nevis sign — look for the sign rather than a specific driver name. Your driver is expecting you based on your flight details.
- Drive to the water taxi. A private vehicle takes you across St. Kitts to Reggae Beach Pier, usually around 30 minutes.
- Cross to Oualie by water taxi. A private crossing from Reggae Beach to Nevis, around 6–10 minutes, with your luggage handled for you.
- Arrive at Oualie. Step off at the pier named on your booking — the public Oualie Pier, or Oualie Beach Resort Pier if you are staying at the resort and booked that transfer. If you are continuing elsewhere on Nevis, your onward leg picks up from Oualie Pier.

Staying at Oualie Beach Resort
Book Nevis can arrange your arrival directly at Oualie Beach Resort Pier. After the drive to Reggae Beach, the private water taxi berths at the resort’s own pier and you step off at the resort — there is no onward Nevis road transfer to arrange or wait for.
Book the SKB Airport to Oualie Beach Resort Pier transfer for arrival and the Oualie Beach Resort Pier to SKB Airport transfer for departure day. Both are private and timed around your flights, with your luggage handled at every handover.
Staying elsewhere on Nevis
A Book Nevis route that names Oualie Pier lands at the public pier. Where your booked route requires it, a private Nevis vehicle then continues to your hotel or villa.
Oualie Pier is the Nevis-side landing point for stays around Oualie itself, and for journeys already routed through this side of the island. Mount Nevis Hotel — the nearest hotel to Oualie — is less than a 10-minute drive from the pier, and Pinney’s Beach properties such as Hamilton Beach and Paradise Beach are around 15 minutes away by road. Plantation inns such as Montpelier Nevis and Hermitage Nevis can also be reached from here, although by road they are generally quicker to reach from Charlestown than from Oualie — which is why we plan those transfers around the whole journey rather than the nearest pier.
Here is the key thing: if you are staying somewhere other than Oualie Beach Resort, you usually do not book the SKB to Oualie Pier product on its own. Instead, book the transfer for your specific hotel or villa — those routes include the onward Nevis drive from the pier to your door as one coordinated journey. The SKB to Oualie Pier product is for guests whose journey genuinely ends at the pier (for example, a pre-arranged pickup there).
Some resorts, including Four Seasons Resort Nevis, have different direct-pier arrangements. Always use the landing point shown on your Book Nevis confirmation.

Departing from Oualie
For departure day, the journey runs in reverse: a private water taxi from your Oualie pier to Reggae Beach Pier, then a private vehicle to SKB Airport. We calculate your pickup time from your flight departure, with a buffer built in for check-in, so you reach the airport with time to spare.
How early should I leave Oualie for a flight from SKB?
From either Oualie Pier or Oualie Beach Resort Pier, we plan about 40 minutes for the private water taxi to Reggae Beach Pier and the drive to SKB, and we schedule you to reach SKB approximately three hours before your flight departure. That usually means a pickup at your pier about 3 hours 40 minutes to 3 hours 55 minutes before your flight. Your confirmation gives the exact time. Staying elsewhere on Nevis? - Check the pier on your confirmation. Do not assume “Oualie” means the resort pier — your Book Nevis confirmation names either Oualie Pier or Oualie Beach Resort Pier.
- Arrive at least 5 minutes before departure at the pier named on your confirmation.
- Follow your reminder. Your Book Nevis final-details email sets out your pickup time and who to look for at the pier.
- At the public Oualie Pier, report to the water-taxi operator or staff named in those instructions.

Is Oualie Pier the same as Oualie Beach Resort Pier?
No. They are two separate piers. Oualie Pier is the public pier at Oualie, used for Book Nevis routes that continue by road across Nevis and for pickups arranged at the pier. Oualie Beach Resort Pier is the resort’s own pier, where guests staying at Oualie Beach Resort can be landed directly, with no onward Nevis taxi needed. Your Book Nevis confirmation always names the exact pier.
Does the water taxi go directly to Oualie Beach Resort?
It can. If you are staying at Oualie Beach Resort, book the SKB Airport to Oualie Beach Resort Pier transfer: after the drive to Reggae Beach, the private water taxi takes you straight to the resort’s own pier, so you step ashore at the resort. Transfers that name Oualie Pier land at the public pier instead.
How do I get from SKB Airport to Oualie?
You land at St. Kitts (SKB) Airport, meet your driver after customs, take a private drive across St. Kitts to Reggae Beach Pier (around 30 minutes), then cross by private water taxi (around 6–10 minutes) to Oualie Pier — or directly to Oualie Beach Resort Pier if you are staying at the resort. How long is the water taxi to Oualie?
The private crossing from Reggae Beach to Oualie Pier or Oualie Beach Resort Pier usually takes around 6–10 minutes, depending on sea conditions and pier operations. It is a private crossing coordinated around your arrival, not a fixed public schedule.
Do you meet us at the airport or at the pier?
At the airport. Once you are through customs at SKB, walk out to arrivals and look for a Book Nevis sign — look for the sign rather than a driver’s name. Your driver stays with you through the drive and the crossing.
What if I am landing at Oualie Pier but staying somewhere else on Nevis?
Then Oualie Pier is likely your Nevis-side landing point, but you should book the transfer for your actual hotel or villa — those routes include the onward drive from the pier to your door. Book the SKB to Oualie Pier product on its own only if your journey genuinely ends at the pier (for example, a pre-arranged pickup there). Oualie Beach Resort guests should book the Oualie Beach Resort Pier transfer instead. If you are unsure, contact us and we will confirm the right one.
Can I book the return from Oualie Pier to SKB?
Yes. The Oualie Pier to SKB Airport transfer runs the journey in reverse — private water taxi to Reggae Beach, then a private vehicle to the airport — with your pickup timed around your flight departure. Booking both legs together saves 10%.
Can I add child seats, and is my luggage handled?
