Nevis Returns to the Big Screen: Apples & Airplanes Heads to US Cinemas
Another film made on Nevis is heading for American audiences. On 23 October 2026, the Nevis Island Administration announced that Apples & Airplanes, a romantic comedy filmed on the island, is due to premiere at a cinema in Los Angeles on 11 November 2026.
We checked these details on 24 October 2026. Release plans for independent films can change, so check the film’s official website for the latest dates.
About the film
Apples & Airplanes is directed by Camilo Diaz Caro and written by Sarafina King, who also produced it and plays the lead, Olivia. Jake Lockett plays André and Dominic Burgess also stars. Its production company, Five 16 Films, describes the story as a slow-burn romance: Olivia does not believe in love until a flight seats her beside André, a charming stranger.
Premiere and release plans
According to the Nevis Island Administration, the Los Angeles premiere will be followed by a wider theatrical run across the United States from January to March 2027, with screenings planned in several states.
The announced Los Angeles premiere does not establish wider public screening dates. Cinema locations and ticket availability remain to be confirmed. The film’s official website gives its release as autumn 2026 and invites visitors to sign up for ticket news, but it does not yet list cinemas or dates. We could not find a distributor announcement confirming the 2027 dates.
Nevis on screen
The Nevis Island Administration says the film features some of the island’s best-known locations as well as lesser-known scenic spots, although it does not name them. Filming took place in late 2025, when local news reports described scenes being shot at Fort Charles, the ruined fort just south of Charlestown.
Premier Mark Brantley said the release shows progress towards the administration’s aim of building a film industry on the island, adding that “each film production provides an opportunity to introduce Nevis to new audiences”.
Apples & Airplanes will be shown in cinemas, while Paradise with You, the Lifetime romance also filmed on Nevis, was made for US television, with a premiere date of 7 November 2026.
Seeing Nevis for yourself
Charlestown has historic stone buildings and the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton, quiet beaches line the coast, and Nevis Peak rises over the island. Our guide to Charlestown’s museums and historic sites is a good place to start.
Most visitors fly into St Kitts and cross to Nevis by public ferry from Basseterre to Charlestown, or by private transfer, which combines a drive on St Kitts with a water taxi across The Narrows. Our guide to how to get to Nevis explains both.
