What the film is about
Carter is an NFL star close to retirement who comes to Nevis to work out what life after football might look like. On the island he meets Simone, an interior decorator starting again after being betrayed. Their romance runs into trouble when they discover they both want the same estate. In the trailer, the land Carter is thinking of buying for a football training facility turns out to have belonged to Simone’s grandmother.
Patricia Frontain directed the film from a script by Ejay Jamison, Reel Chicago reported in March. Diggs, Hemmens and the author Terry McMillan are executive producers. PEOPLE describes it as the fourth collaboration between McMillan and Diggs.
How Nevis was involved
The film was shot on Nevis early in 2026. In March, the Nevis Film Commission welcomed Taye Diggs to the island and thanked the production company, The Ninth House, along with the local cast, crew and partners. The Commission said the film was the company’s first international production.
On 18 March, the Nevis Tourism Authority announced that Nevis would be the setting for the film. As reported by eTurboNews, the production was supported locally by the Nevis Film Commission, led by Film Commissioner Pamela Martin, together with the Nevis Tourism Authority.
On 14 October, NevisPages shared the premiere date, citing Pamela Martin.
Nevis on screen
The trailer features familiar places across Nevis, including Nevisian Heritage Village, the Nevis Hot Springs and the Artisan Village. For visitors who know the island, spotting these locations is part of the appeal. For anyone discovering Nevis through the film, they offer a glimpse of places to explore during a stay.
