5 Must-Visit Hidden Gems in Nevis: A Local’s Guide
Nevis is small, but its quietest corners are some of its best. These five spots are well off the typical tourist circuit — and worth a half-day each.
1. Lover’s Beach
A secluded north-coast beach reached via a dirt track. White sand, calm water on the right tide, and almost no crowds. Bring shade and water — there are no facilities. Pairs well with a stop at Oualie Beach for lunch.
2. Botanical Gardens of Nevis
Hidden in the Montpelier Estate area, the Botanical Gardens are a quiet 7.8-acre escape with rainforest conservatory, orchid terraces, and a small café. Plan ~90 minutes.
3. The Nevis Source
A short forest hike to a hidden mountain stream where local children swim. The trail is steep in places — wear proper shoes — but the waterfall pool at the top is worth it.
4. Hot Springs at the Bath Hotel
The historic Bath Hot Springs were recently reopened with new gardens, walkways and a small café. Mineral-rich and surprisingly empty most weekday mornings. Admission is US$5 per visitor; Nevisians and citizens enter free.
5. Sunshine’s Beach Bar
Iconic Pinney’s Beach institution. Order a Killer Bee, sit in the sand, and watch the boats glide between Nevis and St. Kitts. Lively at sunset, easy at lunch.
