St Kitts and Nevis Featured in The Times’ Best Caribbean Islands Guide
St Kitts and Nevis have been included in The Times’ guide to 17 of the best Caribbean islands to visit, dated 2 October 2026.
The feature highlights the quieter side of a Caribbean holiday, including Nevis’s independent hotels and Oualie Beach Resort. It is a joint entry for the two islands, each of which offers a different setting for a stay.
If the feature has put Nevis on your holiday shortlist, a few decisions will help bring the trip together: where to stay, how to reach your accommodation and how much you want to fit into your days.
Start with the kind of stay you want
Think about the rhythm of your holiday before choosing a room. Would you like to step out towards the beach each morning, spend afternoons around a pool, or return to a hillside setting after exploring?
A hotel can suit visitors who want meals and support close at hand. A villa may work better for a family or group that wants shared space and more control over its daily routine. Consider how you will reach restaurants and activities as well as what the accommodation itself offers.
You do not need a packed itinerary to make a stay worthwhile. Leave room for an unhurried lunch, another swim or an afternoon when nobody needs to be anywhere.
Check which island your flight arrives on
Your flight booking and your accommodation booking need to meet in the middle. Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport, with the airport code SKB, is on St Kitts. If you land there and are staying on Nevis, you need an onward crossing.
For a private transfer from St Kitts Airport to Nevis, choose the destination that matches your accommodation. Check whether your booking ends at a pier or includes the onward journey to your hotel or villa. If your hotel is arranging a pickup, agree the meeting point before you travel.
Send the full accommodation name when organising the journey. For a villa or private residence, include the location or a nearby landmark rather than relying on the property name alone.
Give your first day some breathing room
Arrival day is easier when you keep it simple. Arrange the transfer, settle in and work out where you would like to eat. Save anything with a fixed start time for later in the stay, especially if it would be difficult to move after a delayed flight.
For the following days, choose a few priorities rather than trying to tick off everything. A private Nevis tour can provide an introduction and help you decide where you would like to spend more time independently.
Plan the journey home too
Before you arrive, check that your return transfer starts at the right place and is arranged around your departing flight. A pier pickup and a hotel pickup require different plans.
If you are combining St Kitts and Nevis in one holiday, give each transfer a clear date, pickup point and destination. That small amount of preparation means fewer arrangements to make while you are away.
