British Airways Boeing 777 flying above the clouds

UK to St. Kitts: BA Flights from London Gatwick to SKB (Direct)

British Airways flies direct, though not nonstop, from London Gatwick (LGW) to Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport (SKB) in St. Kitts: the aircraft stops in Antigua for approximately one hour, and passengers continuing to St. Kitts remain onboard. For UK travellers heading to Nevis, this is the fastest route in.

Flight basics

British Airways Boeing 777 in flight above the clouds
  • Route: London Gatwick (LGW) → Antigua (ANU) → St. Kitts (SKB), on the same aircraft throughout.
  • Aircraft: Boeing 777.
  • Flight time: Around 9 hours from Gatwick to Antigua, then under an hour on to St. Kitts. Allow around 10½ to 11 hours from London Gatwick to St. Kitts in total, including the Antigua stop.
  • Frequency: Year-round, typically twice a week (Tuesdays and Saturdays); check BA for current schedules and exact times.

The Gatwick service stops in Antigua (ANU) on the outbound and the return; you stay on the aircraft for the short hop over to SKB, so there is no connection or change of aircraft to make. Total UK→SKB time, including the ANU stop, is around 10½ to 11 hours. The return is an overnight flight, reaching Gatwick the next morning. For every current route into St. Kitts, see our Flights to St. Kitts (SKB) guide.

Onward to Nevis

Oualie Beach water taxi facility, Nevis — the Nevis-side dock

From SKB, the fastest onward journey to most Nevis hotels and villas is a private transfer. A Book Nevis-arranged driver meets you as you exit the customs area, holding a Book Nevis sign, and drives you across St. Kitts to Reggae Beach (around 25–30 minutes). A private water taxi then crosses to Oualie Pier on Nevis (around 6–10 minutes), and a Nevis vehicle takes you on to your hotel or villa where needed. We handle your luggage throughout. Oualie Beach Resort guests can land at the resort’s own pier, and Four Seasons guests can choose a direct water taxi from Majors Bay to the resort pier (see below).

Find your SKB → Nevis private transfer, see our SKB → Nevis arrivals guide for the full step-by-step, or compare every option in How to Get to Nevis.

Top tips for UK travellers

  • Pack a warm layer for the Gatwick start of the trip — you’ll be in shorts at the other end. Our St. Kitts & Nevis packing guide covers what to bring for the island end.
  • Apply for the St. Kitts & Nevis eTA well before you fly.
  • If your flight is delayed, a Book Nevis-arranged driver will still meet you at SKB as you exit the customs area, with no delay fee and no after-hours surcharge. The onward water-taxi crossing is coordinated around your actual arrival time, sea conditions and operator availability, and we will contact you if the plan needs to change.
  • Travelling with children? Child seats are available at $20 per ground leg — flag this when you book.
  • Four Seasons guests: choose a direct private water taxi to the resort’s own pier — see the SKB → Four Seasons Nevis Pier transfer — or a transfer via Oualie Pier to Four Seasons Resort Nevis Reception.
